28,000 awards nominations for 492 entries; 66 finalists for 12 categories.

The city of Brighton and Hove can be proud. So can the thousands of local people that BrightonandHoveJobs.com has helped to find employment since it was launched a year ago.

BrightonandHoveJobs.com missed out by a whisker on getting its hands on top prize at the 2011 National Online Recruitment Awards. After just a year in business. No surprise then that company’s founder and boss, Gary Peters, was singled out by the judges as an ‘outstanding achiever.’

Gary said: “Great evening. I’m really proud that we got so much recognition from people in our industry. Even our competitors were congratulating us on what we’ve done.”

BrightonandHoveJobs.com made a huge splash in its first year. The awards ceremony for NORA’s 10th anniversary year took place at spectacular Sway London, in Covent Garden. More than 300 guests were there to pay homage to the best in the business. The noise inside the venue was almost deafening, and the party was in full swing from start to finish.  To begin with, guests took part in a lively session of Speed Networking.  Then guests were treated to the thoughts of online recruitment wunderkind, Dan McGuire, who has been a NORA Judge for the past 6 years.  Dan’s only just stepped down as MD of Broadbean Technology and had some fascinating views about the online recruitment industry.
