Our client is a leading UK supplier of vehicle wash equipment and maintenance. Due to growth within their rail sector business they currently require a Project Support Engineer to take a key role in the delivery of turnkey solutions from design, manufacture, installation and life time maintenance. Role purpose: Reporting to the Divisional Operations Manager providing engineering support for all projects from initial design to completion for the client. Assist with individual project management activities where required. Responsibilities: Receive and accept projects gaining a detailed understanding of the customers' requirements from an electrical engineering perspective. Develop engineering design requirements with the client engineering teams. Produce and publish a detailed project plan of all the engineering requirements, ensuring that it meets the customers' expectation. Report any project engineering issues to the Divisional Operations Manager and work to produce compliant solutions. Prepare and submit project drawings, equipment specification and interface requirements. Agree any engineering amendments to preliminary design with customer and prepare and submit documentation for final design review in line with required approved format. Attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of equipment as required. Maintain communication with the Installation Supervisor and deal with any engineering design issues that may arise in coordination with the Project Manager. Communicate with the Installation Supervisor and customer (as required) for final commissioning and testing of equipment (electrical and operational). Preparation of training documentation and electrical installation plans to be carried out by the Installation Supervisor. To adhere to all health and safety and ISO procedures as outlined in the Company's procedures. Key Accountabilities: Meet the electrical specification requirements of each rail project. Deliver all electrical requirements and design documentation for rail projects on time. Successful FAT and customer sign off, if required. Provide customer feedback to Divisional Operations Manager/Project Managers Manage/coordinate operations manuals, electrical diagrams and maintenance information. Knowledge/ Skillls/ Experience: Essential: Hold a current recognised qualification in electrical and engineering design. Have a good understanding of electrical and mechanical requirements and mandatory regulations within the rail sector in the UK. Working experience in the rail sector. Ability to use CAD software ( 2D and 3D) Demonstrated evidence of working under pressure to stringent deadlines. Confident communicator at all levels. Understanding of civil and electrical drawings. Desirable: Worked within the rail industry abroad. Experience and knowledge of working on overseas projects Remuneration and package: Salary: £30k - £33k per annum dependent on level of knowledge and experience Pension: Work place pension Benefits: Access to Employee Benefit Scheme and Company Bonus Scheme.
