This is a technical and quality engineering role to support the optimisation of supplier quality in Elekta's global supply chain. As a proactive and self motivated quality professional you will be working with suppliers to assure and improve the quality of products and services supplied to Elekta and its Customers. The role involves all stages of the product lifecycle, using customer, factory and supplier feedback to improve supplier quality. This is achieved through supplier selection and supplier performance management. Qualifications A strong electro-mechanical engineering and manufacturing background is essential. A minimum of HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent ISO9001 or preferably ISO13485 Lead Auditor qualified or equivalent auditing experience. Excellent written communication skills - including report writing, CAPA investigations and quality plans. Able to communicate cross functionally and multinationally. Excellent verbal communication skills - communicating technical and CAPA investigation with suppliers, co-workers and senior management. Able and willing to present when required. Strong interpersonal communication and positive influencing skills, capable of working on own initiative whilst also being an effective team player. Impartial and objective decision maker. Computer literate and fast learning. Demonstratable experience in navigating quickly and effectively around multiple computer systems and databases. MS Office experience mandatory. Demonstrable experience of using technical problem solving and process improvement techniques. Able to read technical drawings and undertake part inspections using a variety of basic measuring equipment (e.g digital verniers, micrometers and shadow graphs) Demonstrable experience of working with external suppliers. Experience with global suppliers preferable. Demonstrable record of delivering stretching targets and successfully managing concurrent tasks. Experience in using and applying quality performance measurement techniques. Willing and able to travel in the Uk and Internationally. Full UK Driving Licence. Responsibilities Management of supplied material quality issues raised by the factory. Working with factory and suppliers to ensure problems are effectively resolved and investigations are fully documented. Effectively contain issues to minimise repeat issues affecting the factory. Instigate and implement effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA). Where appropriate, develop quality plans with the suppliers and Elekta Engineering. Continually aim to establish and implement activities which support the movement to a supplier quality regime which reduces the need for upstream inspection and testing activities. Plan, conduct and fully document first article inspections on new and updated parts to ensure compliance to the drawing specification. Working with suppliers, plan, conduct and document appropriate activities to assure the continued quality of critical parts. Typically achieved by auditing supplier inspection results, reviewing part, manufacturing, test and inspection processes at suppliers premises. Management of supplied material quality issues raised by customers. Working with installed base and suppliers to ensure problems are effectively resolved and investigations are fully documented. Contain repeat issues affecting the installed base. Instigate and implement effective CAPA and where appropriate develop quality plans with the suppliers and Elekta engineering. Conduct approval and surveillence audits in line with the requirements of ISO9001 or ISO13485 and the Quality Agreement in place with the supplier. Where required, conduct part inspections at Elekta, outsourced stores or supplier location. When required, carry out capability assessments of potential suppliers in response to Elekta manufacturing strategy and product road map programmes. Provide quality management and technical support to supplier re-sourcing programs Help identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans for business continuity. Work to and help develop and standardise the quality management system and process improvements in both Crawley and other Elekta product supply centres. Where appropriate, promote and drive the use of global best practice quality assurance tools used by suppliers. Where appropriate, write and issue supplier quality agreements.
