Financial Analyst - UKPN Services

We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to be based out of our Crawley office although they will also need to occasionally travel to our other sites. The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of a suite of financial models and using these to monitor and report on the investment returns and risks of the UKPNS projects and other projects in which UKPN Services has an investment. Additionally, the role involves undertaking investment appraisal of new investment projects and advising on the projected returns compared with the anticipated project risks. The Planning aspect of the role involves supporting the budgeting and medium term planning activities and deliverables of the Commercial Finance teams. In addition the financial analyst will be expected to assist with the production of the monthly management accounts and the general work of the finance team. In this role, you will also be responsible for representing the finance team with the management of the business. UKPN Services: - UKPN Services is the unregulated business of UKPN. It is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing private client electrical infra-structure and certain other private utility infra-structure. It operates through a number of legal entities. - UKPN Services holds long-term contracts with Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, HS1, Docklands Light Railway, Canary Wharf, and Aspire Defence Consortium for Allenby MoD project, along with certain other contracts. - UKPN Services has a consolidated turnover of around £150m per annum and is highly profitable. Principle Accountabilities: - Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of long term contract financial models - Document and maintain all model assumptions and inputs - Assist and support in production of financial models to price new project bids - Assist and support production of financial models which show the financial results in both FRS 102 and IFRS format, including the concession accounting (IFRIC12). - Assist and support in production of pre and post-investment appraisal, including submissions to the UKPN Services Portfolio Board - Provide financial support and advice to new business process including financial modelling - Assistance with the production of monthly management accounts. - Assist with the general work of the finance team. - Collection and analysis of financial information as required by operational managers - Provide analysis of costing information on an ad-hoc basis Nature and Scope: - This is a professional role which includes liaising throughout the business, with regular communication with central finance departments, senior management, non-finance managers and external contractors. You will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a professional attitude to work and those you deal with. - You will also advise operational management on the key issues and impacts arising in relation to the financial position of the business. - It is anticipated that you will undertake this role with a high degree of autonomy, referring to your line manager for guidance or decisions as appropriate. - Whilst the role is based at Crawley, to fully engage with business activities, the Finance Analyst will be expected, from time to time, to attend operational reviews at other UKPNS locations and project sites. - It is anticipated that you will undertake this role with a high degree of autonomy, referring to your line manager for guidance or decisions as appropriate.
