Our Client, who are world leaders in the design, development and delivery of underground transportation schemes both in the UK and overseas, are seeking a Senior M&E design Manager for the Railway business stream. Area of works will include all aspects of major transportation infrastructure projects including metro and light rail, mainline railway, tracks, signaling, traction power, communications, station designs, road tunnels, M&E, systems engineering, systems integration and systems assurance. The successful candidate will: Lead the M&E aspects of designs for projects of all sizes, from concept design to commissioning. Lead M&E teams working on major multi discipline design projects, and supervise and check the work of junior engineers, supporting their professional development. Resource Planning Estimate and effectively manage resource time and budget requirements, establish deadlines and deliver to as directed. Oversee the implementation of the project on a daily basis with regard to resources, time, budget, and quality to guide project team. Attend management meetings both internal / external and Steering Committee when required You will also need excellent technical capability and familiarity with current industry standards coupled with excellent commercial awareness and be familiar with standard terms and conditions in particular NEC- C. Candidate Requirements: BEng / MSc / MEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Chartered Engineer with substantial experience of Tunnel / Rail Engineering / Design Manager, within a consultancy and Construction environment. Proven ability to manage complex and transitional projects involving all areas of operational tunnels / railways and implementation of new developments. Experience in major project procurement processes in particular NEC Contracts is essential.
