Specialist Projects Engineer (Automotive / Vehicle) Based: West Sussex Salary: up to £35,000 DOE Benefits Specialist Project Engineer (Automotive / Vehicle) My client is a market leading specialist vehicle manufacturer. An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Project Engineer to join their Team. The focus of the role is to provide technical support to the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, on budget and that satisfy project criteria. Projects run simultaneously and include both prototype and production builds. This will involve collaborations across departments (including Engineering Design, Fabrication Workshop, Purchasing, and QHSE) and building successful working relationships with Design Engineers, Workshop Team Leaders, Supply Chain Manager, external suppliers, and customers. In addition to supporting the PM, this role will involve: - Liaison with Engineering Design Department to deliver design and drawings - Compiling Bill of Materials (BOM) and issue to Purchasing Department - Take ownership of Change Management / Engineering Control Change processes for current and future projects - Manage the delivery of products to the Production Manager and Production Controller Applications are invited from experienced Project Engineers as well as Engineering Technicians who are looking to make the step up into project management. Applicants must hold a technical engineering qualification (HND / BSc / MSc / etc.) such as aeronautical, aerospace, automotive, electro-mechanical, production engineering, robotics, etc. Candidates must also be able to provide evidence of successfully delivering projects from concept through to production and have experience of dealing with internal and external customers. Previous use of ERP/MRP systems and project management software tools such as SAP are desirable. Candidates should have previous experience in an automotive / aerospace / low volume production environment and those with knowledge / experience of metal forming and/or composite materials are of particular interest. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. Equally as important is the ability to work well in a team. This role will involve occasional domestic and overseas travel so a driving licence and passport are highly desirable.
