Java Developer- SQL / JavaScript / PL/SQL My client, a global leading engineering consultancy, are now looking for a Java Developer to join their team in Croydon, Surrey on a minimum 6 month contract. They are seeking a Java Developer with a breadth of programming skills, principally Java, JavaScript (high competence essential), SQL, PL/SQL and ideally some Crystal Reports/Business Objects. The successful candidate will work in the corporate applications team to improve the applications including; Crystal Reports (XI R2), electronic forms (HP Automation eForms - using JavaScript), and SQL Workflows. In addition to the above, there may be the opportunity to work on a project creating reports and dashboards in SAP Business Objects. Essential Skills & Experience required for the Java Developer: Demonstrable programming experience in SQL and PL/SQL, Java and JavaScript. Please note that a high degree of competence in JavaScript is required (which will be tested) in order to effect change to our eForms which are coded using complex JavaScript. Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts, in particular waterfall and agile Responsibilities of the Java Developer: Work with the corporate applications' business analysts to effect change to corporate systems where requested using relevant methodologies e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Iterative etc Advise business analysts on technical requirements and create prototypes where necessary. Peer Review the work of other developers when needed. Undertake developer testing on system changes made, before these changes are passed to the Business Analyst for Functional testing. Create change records in line with IT policy and carry out deployments between the development and test environments.
