Thales Avionics (AVS) FLX group design, manufacture and integrate both Military and Civil Avionics Equipment across a range of rotary wing and fixed wing platforms. The focus of this role is to manage and develop the in service support solutions for the AVS FLX services portfolio. Particularly targeted at how we provide repairs and spares support and technical advice and assistance to a range of military and commercial customers. Key activities will include developing a support strategy that is targeted at services growth within the AVS FLX business, working with Solution Architects to identify the best support solutions for a given Customer or Product, co-ordinating any design or development activities for in-service equipment, provide overall direction and strategy for Through Life Support Engineering activities and management of people, skills and resources, to ensure that engineering tasks are managed effectively and efficiently and completed to cost, time and quality. Key Responsibilities - Support to Business Development, Bids & Proposals including; - Technical review of support solution; - Generation and review of support technical proposals - Generation and review of TLSE estimates - Developing in service support solutions for future AVS FLX new products - Proposing improvements for operational activities, business tools and processes - Requirements management, (technical and non-technical) - Management of the engineering activities for the Portfolio - Co-ordination of the TLSE activities for the Portfolio Skills, Qualifications and Experience - Proven experienced in the successful management of technical teams - Familiar with working in a relevant Support or Service environment and managing the customer/supplier relationships (internal and external) - Working Experience of estimating and bid support - Responsible for ensuring all Work Packages with the team meet their financial restraints. - Ensuring that the required project-engineering budget is defined and maintained. - General engineering knowledge/experience in support, test, production and development environments. - Good understanding of engineering standards, engineering processes and maturity models - Degree in relevant Engineering subject, or equivalent Higher Qualification or combination of relevant practical and academic experience commensurate with the technical requirements of the role.
