Business Analyst / Systems Analyst / MIS - Business Intelligence
Business Analyst required to work with a multi-national Insurance Corporation focussing on the Management Information Systems and Business Intelligence output from a broad range of enterprise systems. This is a broad and challenging role which requires an understanding of all aspects of the insurance business and of the systems which underlie these business activities and ultimately requires an experienced Business Analyst to identify and discuss business intelligence (BI) and management reporting requirements with business users of all levels or seniority, analyse those requirements, and convert them into business requirement documents. The position is a role within the Management Information (MI) team which is responsible for the production and delivery of reporting, business intelligence, and data solutions to 3 overseas regions. The strategic product offered by the MIS department is a data warehouse fronted by fully functional business intelligence tools (ranging from Qilkview to Cognos, SSRS, etc) offering informational support for managing all aspects of business activities. The Business Analyst / Systems Analyst will engage stakeholders to gather requirements for enhancements to the enterprise systems being enhanced at any given point and document business reporting requirements. Subsequently the Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting data and systems analysis along with applicable data modelling to analyse underlying data source systems. Detailed report specification with therefore be created for use by the wider business as a whole. We are searching for a Business Analyst / Systems Analyst / MIS Analyst who possesses experience gained within Management Information Systems and/or Business Intelligence project delivery fields. You will have conducted systems and data analysis, data modelling and related techniques to both gather requirements, analyse reporting requirements and create concise documentation as required by technical teams and senior level technical business stakeholders (through to business unit heads and CIO level). Ideally you will possess a strong understanding of the Insurance / Reinsurance business landscape (although not essential) and have worked in a large-scale global corporation perhaps in other areas of the financial services sector. You will have experience of working with data warehouses as well as front end reporting functionality and may have gained exposure to tools such as Qlikview, Cognos, SSRS, Business Objects, Tableau etc. You will be fairly proficient in data analysis with SQL and understand dimensional data modelling. Degree level education preferred; exceptional communication skills pre-requisite.
