St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House, children’s hospice in Sussex.

Our Shops and Distribution Centre provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

At a time of continued expansion we currently have the following vacancy:

Retail Assistant Manager – Chichester

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days out of 7, Monday-Sunday, inc Bank Holidays)

Salary: £8,832 p.a. (FTE £14,720)

Are you a highly organised, sales focused Assistant Manager who would love to lead our team within our busy Chichester Charity Shop. If so we are looking for an independently minded team worker who is passionate about customer service to join our friendly team in our flagship shop.

Responsibilities include: 

Delivering excellent customer service; supporting in the management of a team of staff and volunteers; stock control; visual merchandising; liaison with the Distribution Centre for stock; using the EPOS system; daily cash handling and banking; ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure. 

Role Requirements:

Experience in retail, sales or a similar environment is vital and experience of working in a charity shop or knowledge of furniture sales is highly desirable.
