Learning Support Assistant - Sessional (Brighton Campuses)
Based at the East Campus, Brighton
37 hours per week, Term time only
Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GBMet) (formerly Northbrook College and City College Brighton) aims to transform the lives of students across the Greater Brighton region.
This post offers the opportunity to work as part of the Additional Learning Support department, a team committed to delivering high quality support to students across the college. This interesting and challenging role involves making a positive difference to the learning experience of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and supporting the Lecturer in all areas of teaching and learning.
You will be working either with groups or one to one with learners from age 14 - 16 upwards, providing support in class as they study on a range of vocational courses.
The role could involve working at our East Campus, supporting students in practical and theory based classes including Construction, Motor Vehicle, Sports, Public Services and Health and Social Care. You may also be expected to support other classes including English and Maths.
You will require GCSE or equivalent Level 2 Maths and English. You will also need experience of working with disabled students, students with language and literacy difficulties or students with emotional or behavioural difficulties and will also require knowledge of Microsoft Office.
