Wellbeing Care Partner (Healthcare Assistant), Beacon View

22.5 hours per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Up to £8.48 ph

St Peter & St James Hospice is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside near Haywards Heath, providing specialist palliative care for people towards and at the end of life within our community.

Beacon View is part of Wellbeing Services providing a day service for patients where they can come and relax in a supportive environment and take part in a diverse range of activities such as art therapy, gentle exercise, poetry, discussion groups and take advantage of holistic therapies such as Reiki, Massage and Reflexology in our dedicated treatment room.  The Wellbeing Care Partner is essentially a Healthcare Assistant Role, supporting the RGN and Wellbeing Community Development Officer to deliver exceptional patient care.

You will need to have excellent communication skills to enable you to liaise effectively with our patients to ensure they are treated compassionately, professionally and with dignity and respect at all times.  You will be liaising with carers as well other services within the Hospice.

Previous HCA experience delivering personal care to patients would be highly advantageous, along with NVQ Level 1 and or 2 in Health and Social Care, although full training will be provided.  You will need to be a strong team player with an interest in palliative care, encouraging patients to participate in the range of services offered.  You will play an active part in assisting with the organisation of patient activities and liaising closely with our team of Volunteer Drivers providing patient transport.
