Job Details

The Senior Business Analyst will work with IT and business stakeholders to determine the scope and business requirements for the initiatives that form the Bupa Global Change portfolio. Alongside, they will support activities to maintain a forward view of the change portfolio (i.e. its roadmap), interacting with senior and exec-level stakeholders where necessary.

They will work with IT and business partners to develop and deliver innovative business solutions (technology, process, and organisation) that satisfy the requirements, align with our architectural principles and, strategic priorities, and re-use existing capability where possible.

The Senior Business Analyst will work within the Change function and take a lead role in developing and managing the Business and Process Analyst capability in Bupa Global. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Help define and iterate the target operating model (TOM) across the dimensions of systems, data, processes and people
  • Assist in the definition and confirmation of a change portfolio roadmap that delivers the TOM, interacting with senior and exec-level stakeholders as necessary
  • Take the lead Business Analyst role on complex programmes, or projects, within the Change Portfolio. Act as a business solutions consultant and consider all aspects of the required change (both IT & business)
  • Ensure business requirements/user stories are captured and understood and are aligned with business strategy
  • Act as a proxy Product Owner when working on programmes/projects using Agile(Scrum)
  • Be able to use a variety of techniques (e.g. workshops) to elicit and elaborate requirements
  • Support the definition of IT solution options that align with technology strategy and satisfy the business requirements
  • Support the effective delivery of programmes and projects to provide optimal outcomes and enable the organisation to deliver its strategy.
  • Enhance the capability and competency of the business analysis function and develop best practice disciplines around project delivery and consultancy.
  • Help lead, develop and motivate a high performing team of business analysts in an Agile(Scrum) environment. Help build a strong team through effective recruitment, training, coaching and mentoring, objective and KPI setting.

  • Set the highest possible standard of behaviours helping create a discipline with a high performance ethic. Lead by example and by coaching and mentoring less experienced Business& Process analysts.
  • Play a lead role in developing, establishing and maintaining an agreed, best practice Business& Process Analysis methodology.
  • QA the analysis and solutions work on other projects in the portfolio to ensure compliance with agreed methodology and best practice. Ensure that key business analysis and business change deliverables are produced to the required quality standards and approved by business stakeholders – including high level requirements, detailed functional and non-functional requirements, Agile user stories, acceptance criteria, ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ business models, stakeholder presentations
  • Support the creation and definition of programme/project vision, mandates and business cases
  • Support business readiness activity associated with projects to ensure the change is adopted and embedded in business as usual.
  • Provide and encourage innovation within the Business Analysis team and IT and Change organisation.
  • Help ensure that the Business & Process Analyst capacity is at the required levels needed to deliver the portfolio ensuring appropriate coverage across all projects, allocating permanent and contract resource in the most appropriate way and supporting recruitment as necessary.
  • Support the delivery of change, role-modeling new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long-term business capability.
  • Promote a customer centric culture through managing change, partners, processes and empowering team to do what is best for the internal and external customer.
  • Liaise with peers across the department and across directorates to actively improve ways of working within the Business Analysis team and in the way the Business Analysts fit into the end to end change delivery lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain strong, effective and trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Comply with and take into account any requirements from the UK regulators and/or any applicable local regulatory requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

·         Expert knowledge of Agile(Scrum)

·         Good knowledge of tools and techniques such as UML, Behaviour Driven Development, Kanban, MS Visio, MS Project and data modelling

·         Strong people management and development skills

·         Resilient and calm under pressure

·         Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels

·         Structured strategic thinker

·         Commercial awareness and negotiation skills

Preferred

·         A degree-level qualification

·         BCS Advanced Diploma or equivalent

·         Knowledge of, Lean/Six Sigma

·         Working knowledge of ITIL, ITSM, and Data Security

·         Market awareness of technology sectors such as: Big Data, CRM, Digital, Document      Management, etc.
