Job Details

The Apprentice Nursery Assistant will work under the guidance of the Foundation Stage Leader (FSL) to assist in the smooth running of the classroom and to provide support for children in the Nursery in a welcoming, caring and safe environment.

Lingfield College is an independent day school for pupils aged from two to eighteen. It welcomes approximately 940 Nursery, Prep, Senior and Sixth form pupils.

The school was founded in 1940.

The school has been largely rebuilt in the last twenty years and the modern buildings are surrounded by 37 acres of wood-fringed lawns, formal gardens and playing fields. Lingfield provides a welcoming environment for all denominations and is the only co-educational day school in the area which provides education from nursery to university.

Aims of the School:

  • To enable our pupils to achieve high academic standards in a relaxed but disciplined atmosphere.
  • To develop self-worth in every student.
  • To promote traditional values in a nurturing environment.
  • To stimulate intellectual curiosity and develop initiative.

Our Nursery and Reception, rated 'Outstanding' by ISI, aim to provide a welcoming and happy learning environment which is safe and secure, where children can play, explore, experiment, develop confidence, be curious and learn. We believe that early learning should be fun, meaningful and accessible to all children.

Training to be Provided:

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

As the leading Awarding Organisation in the care sector we have surpassed the minimum requirements set out in the Full and Relevant Criteria to develop a qualification which reflects the priorities of practitioners and employers to meet the needs of young children.

Crawley College Apprenticeships

Crawley College, part of the Chichester College Group, has the highest achievement rate for apprenticeships in Sussex (National Achievement Rates Tables in 2017/18).

Why choose an apprenticeship?

  • You can earn while you learn – as an apprentice you earn a salary and get to work alongside experienced staff who will help you to develop job-specific skills.
  • You gain practical and relevant work experience – every apprenticeship program is tailored to specific job roles which means you know you will be receiving relevant training. You will also spend time ‘off-the-job’ which is undertaken outside of the normal working environment.
