MP5 – GOODS IN/OUT (PRODUCTION SUPPORT) PERSON - JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to:                                   Production Manager

Directly reporting to:                        Production Manager & Supervisors/ Buyer

Involved in these core processes:       MP5 Product and Service

Location:                                        CSG’s Factory - Crawley

Hours of work:                                As per your contract of employment

Purpose of Job Role

To assist in the efficient operation of CSG’s production process by managing and processing goods inwards and outwards as demand requires.

Scope

  • Ensure materials received are correct to purchase order & damage free.
  • Where appropriate and following ‘inhouse training’ carry out goods inspection
  • Working in conjunction with Buyer and/or others, ensure stock levels do not reach

 critical level

 

  • Manage out going goods and ensure, they are suitably packed and despatched in accordance with CSG’s Operating procedures
  • Carry out housekeeping and other varied support duties as required

Responsibilities

Ensures the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of incoming materials, goods and products to maintain the business operation.

Main Job Specific Duties

  • Control factory doors located at goods-in area.
  • Take delivery of goods and supplies.
  • Check for damaged or missing items, seek authorisation regarding accepting damaged items whether it can be reworked.
  • Store goods appropriately and safely.
  • Pick and pack orders for dispatch in accordance to Cova standards.
  • Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment, fork lift truck or crane.
  • Load goods for dispatch, check and complete delivery notes.
  • Ensure delivery of materials to relevant production areas.
  • Update and input data regarding stock and inventory into a computerised CRM system.
  • Keep accurate stock records and advise the Buyer of any requirements for materials.
  • Carry out stock counts as and when required.
  • Keep paperwork tidy and up to date.
  • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
  • Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner.
  • Keep all production areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  • Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.
  • Assist in any minor repairs / maintenance around the factory to best of capabilities.
  • Assist in the assembly of minor sub-components for service for despatch.
  • Assist in local collections / deliveries when production driver is not available.

Skills and Attributes

Note we do not expect new recruits to meet all of our requirement initially however, a programme of training will be provided with a reasonable time scale in order to attain the skill set as below

Qualifications and Experience Levels

GCSEs level (any Grades) or NVQ Level 1 or above.

A full clean UK driver licence.

Fork lift truck licence and / or licence to drive assisted lift equipment.

Experience in operation an overhead crane and slinging.

IT skills and understanding of a CRM system (preferred, training will be provided).

Banksman experience.
