The Role

We have a permanent full-time position available immediately in our Operations Team, for a Trainee Audio Visual Installation Engineer. As one of our specially selected Trainee Engineers, you will be working with our experienced Team of Senior Installation Engineers, Systems Designers and Support Teams, you will need to be motivated and enthusiastic and the successful applicant(s) will be required to continue our excellent customer service to our customers, observe Health and Safety requirements both in the office and on site as well as;

 · Working with Vega’s energetic teams of engineers, systems designers and industry experts to deliver cutting edge technical solutions within the Legal, Banking, Media, Defence and Facilities Sectors.

 · Full training is provided internally, further manufacturer training will be provided to candidates, with specialist training also offered to those with the right aptitude, in specific areas of AV such as digital sound programming, commissioning and control system programming.

 · A strong work ethic and the ability to work under supervision and with the guidance of Senior Engineers.

 · The willingness to integrate and work as part of a team is a must, as is the ability to use own initiative.

 · Carrying out first and second fix installation activities on time and to the required standard, under the guidance and direction of Senior Engineers and Project Managers.

· Working from wiring schematics, technical drawings, site plans and elevation drawings. Location The role is based at Vega's EMEA Headquarters, located in Crawley, UK. Local, National & International travel will be required as part of the role in order to support Vega’s customers / projects

 Skills Required

 · Strong interest and understanding of Electronics

 · No previous experience is required, but must have an interest in technology, the right attitude, willingness and a commitment to deliver a great service to our clients.

 · The use of hand tools and power tools is a requirement of an engineer. An experience of building structures is an advantage as are any skills in cable running, network systems and electrical. The right applicant will have good problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, often having to adapt to revised requirements whilst onsite.

· The ability to carry out frequent manual handling tasks is essential.

· Working in collaboration with colleagues and 3rd-parties to ensure customer satisfaction.

· Be organized, flexible and able to overcome challenges during the working day

· Ability to read technical wiring drawings under supervision

· A strong work ethic and the ability to work alone on own initiative or as part of a team is a must.

· A willingness to want to learn and be part of one of the fastest growing industries in the World, working with large screen displays up to 98”, Laser projectors, digital audio and CAT x cabling enabled devices.

· Over 18 years of age as work will involve being on construction sites throughout the training period · Holding a current ECS or CSCS card is an advantage as installations and training will be undertaken on construction sites

Essential Skills

· Efficient, methodical and organised in dealing with all aspects of administration.

· Be presentable, articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

· Confidence in meeting and conversing with clients and representing the company brand.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality · Willingness to learn new skills and retain those skills for later use.

· Willing and able to work away from home (hotel and subsistence provided).

Screening

Due to the nature of our customers and Vega's Employment Screening Policy, candidates must have the following status:

• Valid UK or EU Passport

• Valid driver's license – Desirable but not essential

• Right to work in the UK and EU

• No criminal record

• No CCJs (County Court Judgements)

• No history of bankruptcy

• Proven residential address for at least 3-years
