Job Purpose Statement:  The job incumbent is responsible for the cooking of all Hot Kitchen requirements, according to customer specifications and taking into account JMF standards, new industry trends and cost considerations.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Takes into account the specifications of catering manuals
  • Executes ‘to cost’ principles

  •  Ensure the communication and implementation of new food/menu products are communicated to your colleagues and line managers
  • Ensure the continuous optimisation of all products
  • Keep up to date regarding industry trends in R&D, food and production technologies, planning and food trends. 
  •  Ensure alignment with chefs, office, stores, staff and management are conducted in a professional manner at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Apprenticeship or Certification from college or culinary school
  • NVQ level 1 and 2 essential
  • NVQ level 3 desirable
  • Experience of working within Hotels, Restaurants or food production
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • Financial understanding
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Social competence/Team player
  • Cost Consciousness
