Role Purpose Statement: As a member of the Catering Team, the job incumbent is expected to contribute to the provision of a quality service to meet standards in line with agreed procedures so that the reputation of Jeanie Marshal Foods is maintained and enhanced.
Main Accountabilities:
- At all times, observe and follow all regulations and standards stipulated in the company Food Hygiene Policy and Food Hygiene Manual
- Undertake all tasks as trained and directed so that high standards of food hygiene and health and safety are met.
- Produce and prepare food to comply with product specification in accordance with the food hygiene standards identified within our Food Hygiene Policy. This will include all hot and cold food
- Check prepared food to ensure full compliance to product specification as agreed with customer.
- Ensure all stock is stored appropriately and used in rotation
- Assist with Stock taking as required
- Keep all areas clean and tidy by adopting ‘clean as you go’ policy.
- Ensure all due diligence documentations (CCP1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) are correctly completed in line with given instructions/guidelines.
- Manually lift in accordance with Health & Safety instructions baskets with food items weighing 15-30Kg.
- Ensure all food production is in line with product specification.
- All food wastage is duly recorded in the wastage log.
- Provide high standards of product quality, so that JMF reputation is enhanced and full customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Participate in staff training.
- Ensure aspects of security, fire and emergency are carried out, so that established good practices are adhered to.
- Security of Stock
- Trained in emergency evacuation of the building & safe use of fire extinguishers
- Observe all health & safety at work regulations as set out by the company in accordance with its statutory obligations.
- Report all accidents to the Section Head or in their absence the individual covering for them.
- Report any unsafe practices or broken machinery/equipment to the Section Head or in their absence the individual covering for them, so that remedial action can be taken immediately.
- Use all equipment as trained observing all safe practices, so that accidents are avoided.
- Follow COSHH procedures
- Participate in basic food hygiene training and health & Safety training as required.
- Record keeping – ensure that necessary checks are made and recorded in accordance with JMFFSMS and Food Hygiene Policy

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- A basic or intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is beneficial but not essential
- Cooking or baking qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Good verbal communication skills are essential

- Good Numeracy skills.
- An organised and structured approach to work
- A willingness to learn and progress in the role
- Self-Motivated
- Worked previously as part of a team.
- Previous catering experience desirable but not essential
