Our Story....we've come a long long way! #together
Every big idea starts small. Back in 2010, we launched BrightonandHoveJobs.com with one simple goal, to help local people find local jobs. It was never just about vacancies; it was about giving people a reason to stay, grow and build a future right here on the South Coast. The idea took off faster than we could have imagined. Within a year, we were proudly sponsoring Brighton & Hove Albion FC, wearing our heart on the shirt — quite literally — as the club’s official shirt sponsor. From that moment, our purpose was clear: to help local people find the best local jobs.
As more employers joined and more people found opportunities, our impact began to ripple through the region. In 2013, we were honoured with the Brighton & Hove Business Award for Best Contribution to the Community and proudly lent our name to the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Cricket Ground, home of Sussex County Cricket Club, a landmark that still reminds us how far we’ve come.
A year later, our founder Gary Peters was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Sussex Business Awards, recognising the passion, persistence and people-first values that shaped our journey from day one. Around the same time, we launched our first school programmes, helping young people unlock confidence, discover what they’re capable of, and take their first steps towards work.
As the years went on, our name changed but our purpose never did. In 2018, we became LoveLocalJobs.com, a name that captured exactly who we are and what we stand for. That same year we launched the LoveLocalJobs Foundation and our flagship schools programme Dare to Dream, which has since inspired thousands of young people across the South East to believe in themselves and their futures.
The recognition that followed — from being crowned Best Regional Job Board at the National NORA Awards in 2021, to achieving charitable status in 2023 — was never about trophies. It was about proof that a simple local idea could create real, lasting change.
Now, in 2025, we’re still growing, investing in new technology, lowering costs for employers and continuing to support local people, businesses and educators every single day.
