Tell me about your current role at American Express?
I am currently working in a team called Early Engagement which is part of the SME team. It is a new team that works with recent customers to identify opportunities that maximise their benefits.
How long have you been with the company?
I have been with the company for almost 3 years.
Tell me about your Amex career so far?
I joined in Customer Enterprise Network known as CEN. Answering calls in the call centre, supporting everyday queries. Servicing cards essentially. After 1.5 years I then moved to Early Engagement to gain more sales experience.
Why did you join American Express?
I did a few different jobs before joining Amex. I wanted to join a big establishment with a lot of opportunities. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do and Amex offered so many different avenues and options. It provided the ideal platform for career progression. Also being a local employer in Brighton was important for me.
What did you do before joining American Express?
Before joining American Express I worked as an Estate Agent.
How does Amex differ from other companies you have worked for?
The career progression is really mapped out for you and structured.
What would you say to candidates considering making an application to American Express?
Come and work for Amex there are so many opportunities. One of my friends has just gone to work for American Express in Australia. So much opportunity to grow. If you want to go all the way to the top, you can do it. The culture is so open. A really, really good place to work.
