LoveLocalJobs.com is proud to support the annual charity Christmas Party that is held in aid of Time To Talk Befriending (TTTB). The day catered for 100 people from the local area, enabling them to come together at the festively decorated Sussex County Cricket Club for a two-course Christmas dinner, with plenty of wine and drinks of course! The guests also enjoyed a good old sing along to some Christmas classics, lead by the local men’s choir plus a lucky few indulged in some early Christmas goodies they’d won as part of the complimentary prize raffle. Christmas party

This annual party provides a wonderful opportunity for our elderly community to meet up with friends and to make new ones. These are people who are typically unable to get out of the house without assistance or at least transportation or may be suffering from depression or poor mental health due to isolation from friends or family. For some it’s the one event of the year that they look forward to, knowing they will be welcomed with open arms and in for a day of fun and celebration!

Most importantly, it brings a community together and means that at this time of year, when loneliness can be particularly prevalent, nobody has to be alone.

About Time To Talk Befriending

TTTB provide life-changing services for older people who feel extremely lonely because they don’t have any or many family or friends to visit them. Through events, community outreach and intergenerational befriending, TTTB help communities reconnect with the aim of eliminating loneliness and improving mental wellbeing amongst the elderly.
