Breakfast Club 2 : Grow you people grow your business
Our 2ndBreakfast Club: ‘Grow Your People to Grow Your Business’ in partnership with The Skills Farm and Search Consultancy took place on 4th July at Hotel du Vin and was a huge success.
70 delegates from businesses across Sussex joined us for a morning of breakfast, networking and keynote speaker Scott from The Skills Farm.
The first session explored leadership styles and how to motivate a team through the delegation of task. This not only empowers and upskills staff but also clears managers schedules enabling them to focus on other priorities.
The second session made delegates reflect on their career anchors and motivations. By comparing career anchors in a team, we learnt that employees and colleagues all have different motivations for coming to work and explored approaches for individual needs. For example, if someone is motivated financially, verbal recognition alone isn’t going to motivate them.
The final session focused on the Saying No Formula which provides a simple plan for difficult conversations where you need to say no to a colleague, manager or line report. This session allowed for audience participation and saw Jack the Lad using his finest acting skills to develop the Saying No Formula.
