Sussex Skills Solutions is a joint venture between Sussex Downs College and Sussex Coast College Hastings. We offer a range of services to enable business growth from short one-day compliance workshops to longer-term professional development.
We have a scheduled programme of courses as outlined below, and also offer bespoke provision to meet your specific training requirements, either on site in your workplace or at one of our campuses.
Courses we can offer include:
Train the Trainer – 1 & 8 May – 9.00 – 4.00 - £225
This course is aimed at Individuals, managers, supervisors and leaders who wish to acquire the key skills necessary to train and influence others.
MS Word Introduction – 29 June – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This highly practical course introduces delegates to the Word Processing application from the Microsoft Office suite. Delegates will be made familiar with the essentials of Word with maximum hands-on time and tutor led instruction. This course is designed for anyone who needs to produce letters, memos, reports and everyday documents ensuring maximum professionalism and styling.
MS Word Intermediate – 6 July – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This action packed course builds on our MS Word 2016 Introduction course extending your skills into the facilities of tables, a variety of automatic features and professional managing and finishing your documents.
MS Word Advanced – 25 May – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This course builds on our MS Word Intermediate course, teaching facilities for creating advanced tables, styles for consistent documents, inclusion of graphics and other objects, automation with Macros, document management and complete referencing.
MS Excel Introduction – 5 June – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This highly practical course introduces delegates to the Spreadsheet application from the Microsoft Office suite. Delegates will be made familiar with the essentials of Excel with maximum hands-on time and tutor led instruction.
MS Excel Intermediate – 3 July – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This action packed course builds on our MS Excel Introduction course extending your skills into the facilities of data tables/databases, more on formula and professionally managing and finishing your spreadsheets.
MS PowerPoint Workshop – 6 June – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This course is intended for people who need to produce presentations; this could be administrators/secretary’s/PA’s or sales and management staff. No previous knowledge of PowerPoint is required; however delegates should have basic computer and keyboard skills. Word Processing familiarity is advantageous but not essential.
MS Project Fundamentals – 11 May – 9.00 – 4.00 - £150
This hands-on course introduces delegates to Microsoft's Project Planning Tool. Delegates will be able to create and use Project, create plans, assign resources and use the various views Project Offers.
Emergency First Aid at Work – 9.00 – 5.00 - £85
4 May – 14 June – 6 July
This course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks, where a nominated person is required to take charge of first aid in the event of an accident or illness.
Plus an insight into relevant legislation, and the duties as required by such legislation, such as a first aid kit and simple record keeping.
L2 Award in Food Safety – 9.00 – 5.00 - £85
15 May – 11 June
This course introduces delegates to food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
This course is primarily aimed at people who want to work as food handlers in commercial premises or charitable organisations but is also useful to anyone wishing to learn more about food hygiene.
BIIAB Personal Licence – 5 June – 9.00 – 5.30 - £150
This course allows delegates to gain the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal License Holders. It is suitable for those intending to apply for a license. (Please check requirements with your licensing authority.)
L2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace – 12 June – 9.00 – 5.00 - £150
During this 1 day course, Learners will develop a greater understanding of health and safety issues, including: health and safety laws, risk assessments and risk control hierarchy, identifying and controlling risks from common workplace hazards and more.
