We are seeking an experienced Freelance Building Surveyor to carry out fabric condition surveys across a higher education property in Sussex. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fabric condition surveys of buildings, including external and internal elements.
• Identify and document defects, deterioration, and maintenance requirements.
• Provide clear, concise, and accurate condition reports with photographic evidence.
• Recommend priority actions and timelines for remedial works.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure access and compliance with on–site protocols.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
• Proven experience conducting building fabric condition surveys.
• Strong knowledge of building pathology, materials, and maintenance requirements.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred but not essential.
• Access to own transport to travel to the site.
