1:1 Teaching Assistant - Part Time

Reed Education are seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and additional learning needs. This role is ideal for someone with a nurturing approach, strong behaviour management, and a genuine passion for helping young learners thrive.

The Role:

• Provide daily 1:1 support to a primary school student with SEMH and additional needs
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
• Help the pupil regulate emotions, engage in learning, and access the curriculum
• Implement strategies and personalised support plans
• Maintain a calm, encouraging, and consistent approach
• Support with both academic tasks and emotional wellbeing

About You:

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs (school or similar setting)
• Empathetic, patient, and resilient
• Able to build strong, trusting relationships
• Confident in managing behaviour in a nurturing and positive way
• Reliable, proactive, and committed to the pupil's progress
• Available for 3 hours per day until July
