As a FTSE listed leading pan-European Ventilation Group, this UK headquartered company is recruiting for an inspirational and experienced Technical Director reporting directly to Volution's Ventilation Group Operations Director. Responsible for a multi-location team, you will be driving strategy, execution and innovation for both the development of new products as well as focusing on cost leadership with the existing portfolio. Driven by a huge desire to succeed you should have the ability to provide inspirational leadership, cross border co-ordination as well as the organisational skills required to simultaneously manage multiple product development and current product improvement initiatives. The successful Technical Director will have the following skills and experience: Proven experience working as a Technical Director / Manager with extensive experience working within a technical engineering / manufacturing research & development function or other relevant industry Experience of leading teams, with the ability to inspire, mentor and manage Working with Product Management to create and deliver projects from the product road map, that will ensure the Group continues to lead in terms of innovation and product performance Manage the IP of the Group ensuring sufficient protection for products and trade marks Ensure appropriate product approvals are in place for products with regards safety and customer performance requirements Co-ordinate the running of the central test and approval laboratory to ensure it delivers an efficient service across the Group and minimises the use of third party test houses Represent the Group on a number of technical / legislative committees across Europe Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders both internally and within client's businesses in order to gather and discuss requirements when required You will be a dexterous individual with the ability to manage your own time effectively and dynamically lead a pan-European technical team. Substantial bandwidth and organisation skills will be required to make this role a success and it will suit a high calibre technical leader with the experience and desire to really make a different across the overall team. Essential Ideally of graduate standard or higher, you will be required to demonstrate that you have: The ability to apply experience and knowledge to technical multi product development and delivery Be a pro-active, hands-on type individual who demonstrates initiative and has a positive and professional attitude Be a strong capable leader, with the presence and ability to communicate, motivate and influence at the highest level Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the capability of delivering results Willingness to undertake reasonable business travel, worldwide but mainly in Europe, as required Able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team across multi sites, you should be an organised and confident individual, who is hands on, solutions driven and has excellent attention to detail.
