Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) welcomes applications from Occupational Therapists who would like to work in the Crawley area part-time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist who can think and act flexibly to deliver proactive, high quality care in a community setting. You will have an advanced understanding of the principles of effective assessment and case management and the ability to think and deliver services in new and innovative ways.

You will be working for a Communities of Practice Team delivering integrated health and social care, the service works in collaboration with Primary Care colleagues and non-profit organisations to deliver seamless, holistic care; empowering people to self-manage their healthcare needs and remain at home.

You will be responsible for managing your own clinical caseload, developing person-centred treatment plans and responsible for promoting health and wellbeing in the community. You will be supporting and supervising students and other members of the team, and be supported by other Band 6 therapists in the Communities of Practice Team and in the wider West Sussex area. You will have excellent communication skills to work with patients, relatives, carers and the wider MDT, and experience of working with people with complex, multiple pathologies. There may be an opportunity to experience joint working with other SCFT Teams to support your CPD and career progression.

You will receive line-management from a Therapy Team Lead and Senior Nursing Lead. You will also receive supervision from a professional lead occupational therapist including peer supervision groups and opportunities for in-service training. Therapies are an integral part of the forward thinking and exciting new developments at Crawley hospital and the wider Sussex Community Foundation Trust.

Experience working in an MDT community environment is an advantage as you will be working closely with GPs, Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Psychological Therapists, Social workers & Prevention Assessment Team workers, as part of the MDT.
