Volunteer Donated Goods Sorter

The distribution centre is the central point for all our donations including those from house clearances. This is where all goods are stored, sorted, cleaned and distributed. Our Volunteer Sorters, help with clothes, homeware, small electrical items or other goods, getting donations ready for resale.

Where:  Martlets Warehouse, Sussex House Business Park, 270 Old Shoreham Road, Hove BN3 7DX

When: Shifts are between 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday or 10.30-3.30 Sunday

Usual minimum commitment: Weekly 4-hour shift 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lifting and emptying bags of donations
  • Sorting clothes, shoes, bags, bric a brac or toys
  • Sorting electrical items, checking for damage, passing to our PAT testing team
  • Identifying donations that are of higher value and suitable for Martlets E-commerce

  • Be fit and able to stand

  • Be flexible, adaptable and willing to work on your own or as part of a team
  • Be reliable and a good time keeper

  • To commit to a regular shift
  • To attend the Martlets Welcome Day and Martlets training relevant to the role
