Key Tasks

The role involves numerous general secretarial duties including;

  • Processing dictation using our in house digital system called Bighand
  • Document preparation/binding
  • Opening and maintaining client files – both paper and electronic files in line with SRA and firm policies
  • Making, taking and transferring telephone calls
  • Keeping the in-house database updated
  • Drafting routine correspondents and documents
  • Managing and updating paper and electronic diaries
  • Booking in meetings
  • Undertake searches when necessary
  • Dealing with accounts – posting account slips, preparing petty cash requests
  • File archiving
  • General client care and administration
  • Create and maintain database
  • Will, EPA and LPA records
  • Handling of original Wills/Powers of Attorney
  • Maintain Trust permanent folder
  • Provide assistance to other teams when required
  • And other such duties that are deemed appropriate for this role
  • Any other ad hoc administrative tasks as and when required

Desired qualifications

Applicants wishing to apply would ideally Educated to GCSE or ‘A’ level standard and with a minimum of Maths and English GCSEs at grade C/4, or equivalent and above. 

Future prospects

There may be a full time role available at the end of the apprenticeship.
