'Excellent patient-centred care at the heart of the community' is the Sussex Community Foundation Trust vision.  In conjunction with the renowned Chailey Heritage School based in the Sussex countryside near Haywards Heath, Chailey Clinical support children and young people with complex physical, neurodisability, multi-sensory, communication, learning and health needs and their families and carers. The focus here at Chailey is for the child and young person to be secure, comfortable and pain-free, and to promote independence to enable them to take an active role in their wider community.

As part of the NHS multi-disciplinary team, the Residential School Nursing Team (RSNT) offers a 24 hour nursing service working throughout the school, residential and Futures.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time administrator to provide administrative support to the RSNT; co-ordinating meetings, booking training, carrying out the weekly Prescription Medication Administration Records and co-ordinating the school vaccination programme.

The successful applicant will act as a key point of contact for the nursing service and will ensure that patients, other members of the public, external stakeholders and colleagues within the Trust receive a courteous and supportive response to a range of queries and requests for information. They will have good team working and communication skills alongside excellent organisational skills and be a competent user of Microsoft Office Packages.

The role includes collection and accurate inputting of patient data into SystmOne databases, use of patient administration systems, handling telephone enquiries,  minute taking, managing medical device related information, and ordering specialist equipment. They will be responsible for the day to day management of the office space and will be the first point of contact into the service and will need to demonstrate a confident, friendly manner whilst dealing with patients and families.
