We are looking for a passionate and experienced fundraising professional to join our award winning fundraising team!  As Fundraising Officer, you will be specifically responsible in supporting the Development Director with major donor development, corporate partnerships, submitting trust and foundation applications as well as developing commercial opportunities.

The candidate should be a self-starter inspired and motivated by the work of IAR and be someone that will significantly develop the charity’s fundraising activities and increase its income, taking these important funding streams to the next level. International Animal Rescue (IAR) is a dynamic fast growing charity based in Uckfield, East Sussex, committed to animal welfare and conservation. At IAR we do exactly what our name says: we save animals from suffering around the world and tackle the causes of their misery. We cut free dancing bears in India, rescue orangutans in Indonesia, save howler monkeys in Costa Rica and release bear from cages in Armenia - and so much more. Whenever we can, we release rescued animals back into the wild; and when that's not possible, we give them a safe haven for life.

Key tasks and responsibilities;

  • Support the Development Director with the stewardship, management and research programme for major donors 
  • Develop new and existing corporate partnerships for the charity
  • Research & submit applications to UK Trusts and Foundations
  • Support the Development Director in the creation and delivery of stewardship events
  • Seek out other significant partnerships to develop the brand of International Animal Rescue
  • Provide regular reporting to Development Director
  • Initiate new avenues for income from commercial activity
  • Play an integral role the marketing and fundraising team of International Animal Rescue

• Experience of developing meaningful relationships with high net worth individuals (E)

• Impressive track record of working with high net worth individuals to secure significant funding (E)

• Experience in managing stewardship programmes for major donors (E)

• Experience of successfully managing relationships with corporate partners and other commercial partners (E)

• Proven ability to meet fundraising objectives and targets (E)

• Experience of researching and successfully applying to trusts and foundations (D)

• Experience of developing commercial opportunities within a charitable or commercial environment (D)  

• Experience of managing fundraising events to develop relationships with corporate partners and major donors (D)
