Consultant Paediatrician (Community Child Health), Crawley Child Development Centre
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Community Paediatric Team based at Crawley Child Development Centre, West Sussex. Crawley is located near to the scenic South Downs National Park and Gatwick Airport and within close distance to London and Brighton.
The successful applicant will join a team of four other consultants (3.2 WTE), and an Associate Specialist to participate in all aspects of core community paediatric work. The post holder will take on the lead for the autistic spectrum disorder service.
This team is also part of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust's wider Child Development Service, consisting of 3 other CDCs. There are opportunities for joint working and professional development and networking with over 15 consultant colleagues across the Trust.
The community paediatric team is based at the Crawley Child Development Centre, along with the multidisciplinary Child Development team consisting of doctors, specialist nurses, therapists and audiologists. The Centre provides a family friendly environment for multidisciplinary working.
The Crawley Community Child Development Service provides services for all children resident in the Crawley and Horsham area of northern West Sussex. There are well developed links with both acute paediatric services, provided by Surrey & Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a 10 PA post and the post-holder will contribute to the weekday daytime child protection rota.
We are looking for a candidate who is innovative, flexible and committed to multidisciplinary working and will actively participate in developing new approaches to the delivery of child health services.
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of NHS community health services across Brighton and Hove and West Sussex.
Applicants must be on the GMC Paediatric Specialist Register or have a paediatric CCT date within six months of the interview date and must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice.
