Maths Progress Mentor
Term Time Only (39 weeks work), fixed term until 31/3/2021)
Based at the Central Campus, Brighton

We are seeking to appoint a Maths Progress Mentor to work with students to promote attendance, punctuality, retention and as a consequence, success rates by providing mentoring support to students who have a range of support needs. You will be liaising with parents, carers and support services in order to support improvements in student attendance in maths, actively monitoring, recording and analysing all necessary data and records in relation to maths, and producing timely reports as required.
You will be ensuring that caseloads and attendance checking is well managed and prioritised. Also efficiently utilising College systems to proactively identifying students who are a cause for concern, and implementing support strategies where appropriate.
You will require experience of providing targeted support to young people and adults, along with an awareness and understanding of the needs of care experienced and other vulnerable students. Experience of supporting and coaching students in an educational setting is essential.
You will also need to hold a Level 3 qualification in teaching or equivalent in relevant youth services area
