PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Paediatric Occupational Therapist - Band 6

Chichester

An opportunity has arisen for a committed and experienced clinician to join the paediatric Occupational Therapy service at Westhampnett Child Development Centre (CDC) in Chichester. The post would be suitable for an experienced band 5 or band 6 Occupational Therapist with appropriate transferable skills. Experience of working in paediatrics is desirable but not essential.

This is a community post, with a caseload of children and young people with neurological and developmental conditions. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out assessment and intervention for children with a variety of clinical conditions and developing interventions that can be administered by parents, education staff and technical instructors. It is desirable that you can take students and have up to date fieldwork education training.

You will work closely with the child, family and other professionals involved in their care. We are committed to multi-disciplinary working and contribute to specialist clinics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are therefore essential to this post. You will also be responsible for contributing to the development of paediatric services alongside colleagues within the team.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical skills gained through previous OT experience. The successful candidate will also have the ability to work independently in the community, have excellent organisation/time management skills and be enthusiastic in the execution and promotion of paediatric OT. Regular supervision will be provided by senior staff.

Car owner / driver essential.
