St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices:

St Barnabas House provides palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including In-patient Care, Day Hospice and Community Care. 

Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice reaching across Sussex and South East Hampshire. Providing care and support for children/young people and their families with life-shortening conditions.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional events manager, to lead our events team in planning and delivering a diverse portfolio of events for St Barnabas House adults’ hospice and Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering the charity’s events strategy
  • Managing an income budget of over £1m
  • Managing a small team of Events Fundraisers and large numbers of volunteers
  • Project managing a small selection of high profile flagship and mass participation events
  • Leading the development of new flagship or mass participation events
  • Providing excellent experience and stewardship for events participants

You will be able to generate new ideas and spot new opportunities, as well as dealing with any problems and finding solutions, whilst managing risk. The role is extremely varied and fast-paced with the need to juggle many projects and use your own initiative.

Flexible location based at one of our three sites, Worthing, Arundel and Eastbourne, with regular travelling to all sites – to be discussed.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this post.
