Support Worker Role: Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and many of our service users require support during the night.

Please note our waking night support workers are required to be awake and vigilant throughout their night shift, even breaks. You will be required to check on residents as required by their care plans, and provide any support needed. Sleeping on duty is not permitted at any time, even during breaks.

You will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing.You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night.

Support Worker Criteria:

* We believe that a successful Waking Night Support Worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.
* An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.
* Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
