At Canford Healthcare we specialise in providing quality residential care for the elderly across our group of care homes. A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Activities Assistant to become part of our team at Pentlow Nursing Home.
Key Duties:
· Assist with planning weekly activities in line with the requests and choices of the residents
· Enhance the wellbeing of residents through stimulating social and physical activities
· Ensure the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of the residents are listened to and met
· Assess needs and plan individual activities for residents who are unable to participate in group activities
· Motivate the care team, promote the importance of activities and contribute to the caring culture of the Home
Requirements:
· Excellent communicator
· Show an empathetic, warm and cheerful personality
· Ability to put creative ideas into practice
· Experience of working with senior people would be preferred but not essential
· Experience in activities for older people will be an advantage
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends
