Electrical Design Engineer

£45,000 per year + Package

East Sussex (Brighton 40min drive, Hastings 40min drive)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop electrical systems and controls for large scale engineering, manufacturing or processing equipment.

Working within the engineering team, the Electrical design engineer will be responsible for the design and support of the Electrical power and control systems for the latest machines in the company’s portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have experience in both electrical design and PLC control. Working for a market leader in this sector with over 30 years of experience enjoying rapid growth over recent years.

Job Specification

Core skills and responsibilities of the successful Electrical Design Engineer to include:

* Electrical system design using AutoCad Electrical – 3 Phase and Single Phase power, 24 VDC, 4-20mA, 0-10 VDC, Ethernet, Modbus, CC-Link etc
* Electrical design of Control Systems
* Detailed design and specification for manufacture
* Analogue instrumentation including Pressure transducers, Thermocouples, Gas flow meters, Pump (pressure and Vacuum) controls, Motor inverters and Heating controls
* Digital control of Valves, SOV’s, Pneumatics and Hydraulics
* PLC systems (Pro-Face, Mitsubishi Q Series, Siemens or similar) with remote I/O
* HMI integration (Mitsubishi or similar)
* Modular design of systems for cost saving and ease of installation
* Hands-on setup, testing and fault finding of control systems, in the factory and the field

An understanding of large engineering machinery projects involving a variety of engineering techniques associated with material processing equipment

The Successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree equivalent or higher qualifications
