In a word

Identify, plan and deliver a programme of high impact, cost effective events to support the Marketing strategy and the business’s objectives. Contribute to a marketing centre of excellence with a strong understanding of and focus on digital culture and capability.

Deliver excellence in marketing communications by providing specialist event services and advice within the Marketing Department and around the organisation in line with brand guidelines, technical requirements, team processes, internal policies, agreed standards, legislation and regulation. Create, manage and evaluate quality, compelling, compliant and creative events across all channels, products and customer groups.

Practically speaking

  • Proactively engages with colleagues around the business to identify requirements and opportunities for external events
  • Build relationships with relevant external partners to create and optimise events opportunities
  • Sets up and manages a central comprehensive, cost effective, creative, rolling programme of external events
  • Manages the delivery of all external events to meet cost, quality and time targets
  • Works with internal colleagues and external agencies where appropriate to deliver the events programme
  • Ensures all events support departmental and business objectives and that they are compliant with brand guidelines, internal policies, agreed standards, legislation and regulation
  • Puts in place and manages a framework of events suppliers, working with colleagues as appropriate
  • Works with the Marketing Operations team to set up and maintain processes for events organisation including building and maintaining contact lists, logistics, promotion, delegate management and impact assessment
  • Suggests SLAs, KPIs and metrics for external events and works with the Marketing Operations team to ensure agreed measures are tracked, evaluated and acted on

Right for this role

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Proven experience of planning and executing external events
  • Understanding and proven experience in preparing for and running events for offline and digital channels
  • Knowledge of current best practice in events marketing
  • Proven experience of internal stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of managing relationships with external agencies and suppliers
  • Experience of maintaining accurate and up to date logs and records
  • Understanding of brand compliance
  • Ability to work in a project environment
  • Proven ability to negotiate the best possible deal
  • Experience of report-writing (Excel and PowerPoint)

Contract Type: 12 month FTC Maternity cover
