How would you like to help completely redesign the websites of an international tech company? This year we’ll be doing just that. And we want you to be part of it.

We’re looking for a web designer who codes. Who’s down to earth yet ambitious and full of energy. Someone who prefers simple to complex.Someone with a deep ambivalence toward scrolljacking. Sound like you? Read on. 

You’d say yes to most of these:

  • At least 2 years experience – whether professional or in your home – of designing and building responsive web sites.
  • You want to work with people who share your passion, and you’re easy going yet somehow still very serious about your job
  • You get responsive design. You have a knack for what will work in practice – and you browse the web as if you were foraging for layouts and UI patterns.
  • You’ve read articles about scalable design, web components, and pattern libraries and see the benefits in terms of consistency, efficiency... and your own sanity!
  • You’re very proficient with HTML & modern CSS (ideally Atomic/Tachyons). If you’ve been more BEM-minded until now, then you’re open to trying something new and zesty.
  • You can confidently make a mighty fine looking SVG.
  • Javascript:
    • a) You’ve written at least a little Javascript – we’ll help you get better (and adopt ES2016!), or:
    • b) You’re amazing at Javascript – and you’ll help us get better (and adopt ES2017!)
  • You’ve probably moved on from using Photoshop for web design to Sketch/Framer/InVision – or you want to. Because symbols.

You’ll be working closely with our lead front-end web designer, web team lead, and our lovely design team. As a bunch we’re laid back but ambitious. The websites, products, and occasional infographics we build are used by millions of people each year and reach some of the world’s most influential people, so there is scope to make a real mark.

Although our team is small, you can expect to interact and collaborate with product marketers, content writers, partner companies and maybe even our CEO. So some great people skills wouldn’t go amiss!

Bonus points section:

  • We’d love to see a portfolio of web design work, especially for any technology companies or products.
  • Experience in wireframing, design sprints
  • Experience designing within a brand framework
  • Knowledge of modern prototyping tools (Principle, Framer, XD et al)
  • Experience of supplementary skills e.g. video, 3D rendering, photography, animation
  • Experience of working in a team, liaising with stakeholders
