Senior Therapist Team Lead

Our award-winning innovative LTC-IAPT service, Time to Talk Health, achieves fantastic outcomes with patients experiencing common mental health problems alongside long term physical health conditions. Due to the relocation of a Senior Therapist Team Lead we now have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team and to continue to strengthen and develop our service across West Sussex. This is a unique role to lead the team and really set the scene locally for parity of esteem across physical and mental health services.

Time to Talk Health provides NICE approved Step 2 and Step 3 treatment integrated within physical healthcare pathways and this role will appeal to a suitably experienced clinician who enjoys joint-working within physical healthcare teams in order to improve patient outcomes. Using your consultation skills and clinical knowledge, as an integral member of the management team you'll help lead clinicians and embed our integrated model.  Working across physical and mental health boundaries and with various partner organisations you'll be supported by the Clinical Lead and Clinical Services Manager in order to establish collaborative working across the county. You'll hold a small clinical caseload and alongside two other Team Leads and Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners you'll support the clinical development of colleagues as you provide day-to-day clinical guidance and advice across the Team.

You'll have a background in either CBT Therapy or clinical / counselling psychology completed with training and experience in CBT or accredited as a CBT Therapist.  You'll need to have been qualified for a minimum of 3 years and be able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and supervisory expertise along with experience of working with people who have long term conditions.  Contributing strategically to the effective delivery of the service, a comprehensive understanding of national KPIs and the ability to monitor and manage activity is a must.  Importantly, as we develop our integrated model you'll need the ability to manage change and support the Team appropriately while building relationships with external partners.  Prior experience of establishing and growing a service model or project would also be welcome.

If you're a compassionate leader with sound communication skills and a can-do attitude you'll be rewarded in this interesting and varied role with good-quality, regular clinical supervision, opportunities for development and additional training as required. As part of the high performing and successful Time to Talk IAPT service you'll be supported by a network of colleagues across the Trust led by our Chief Psychologist.  Working across West Sussex you'll need to be flexible and a car driver-owner.  Based in Worthing you'll also regularly work from our Horsham site and there will be some evening work required.

Interviews scheduled w/c 15.04.19.

Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
