Hastings Direct - Credit Hire Team Leader

We have two fantastic new opportunities within our expanding Credit Hire department for strong Credit Hire Team Leaders. This role would suit experienced team managers with a strong people management background looking for a new challenge in a fast paced, dynamic business on the coast.

The Role

Reporting into the Claims Manager, we are looking for someone to engage, motivate and inspire our colleagues whilst nurturing our internal talent and driving team and company performance. The ideal candidate will not only be committed to the development of colleagues but also their own self-development. You will lead by example by providing clear direction and effective leadership, instilling a service culture that enables and empowers your team to go above and beyond. There is a lot of focus within this department so you will have a real opportunity to create an impact.

Your remit will include the following;

  • Set and manage colleagues annual and monthly objectives
  • Ensure colleagues receive month 121's to address and optimise performance
  • Manage all HR related issues in line with practices expected by the business
  • Ensure all annual PDRs are conducted within expected business time frames
  • Provide monthly coaching and development plans
  • Deliver effective monthly meetings
  • Ensure colleagues are accurately reserved in-line with the reserving philosophy
  • To ensure payments are authorised in-line with the departmental service level agreement
  • To manage adherence to department work condition reports and ensure colleagues adhere to departmental service level agreements
  • Conduct regular (monthly) audits on colleagues
  • To oversee guidance and advice in respect of technical referrals
  • To manage departmental/team complain handling
  • To liaise with the relevant authorities in training to ensure that each colleague is receiving the right level of support and training

  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team
  • Proven track record of driving results
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent commercial awareness and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • The ability to create a 'one team' approach and work collaboratively with peers
