Management Analyst

 

The Health & Benefits Analyst will identify and investigate trends within BGBU's claims spend to understand and manage Claims Cost, Billing Practices & Behaviour, Health Trends; supporting the Health & Benefits strategic agenda, disseminating information and highlighting key risks. Ensuring Health & Benefits have the necessary tools to work efficiently. This will involve regular monthly reporting, development & maintenance of self-serve tools, ad-hoc analysis and investigations.larger scale

 

The job holder will:

 

  • Access claims data held in the central data warehouse through the SAS  application.
  • Design, Build, Implement and Maintenance of Self-Serve Tools for use within Health & Benefits
  • Understand the data needs of the Health and Benefits department and produce relevant and accurate analysis.
  • Produce regular monthly reporting and develop where necessary.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Carry out analysis of claims data to identify any trends, changes or opportunities to tighten claims leakage.

 

Ideal experience:

 

  • Proven track record in carrying out detailed data analysis and MI reporting in an operational arena.
  • Deep experience and knowledge of using a range of systems to gather and report on information. Ability to use software development tools such as VBA and presentation skills in MS excel and power point.
  • Able to disseminate large amounts of information and provide clear and commercially sound recommendations to managers. Proven ability to influence operational managers to implement change.
  • Highly numerical.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, preferably financial services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills are required with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build and strengthen relationships within the business and externally at all levels.
  • Mathematical/statistical background demonstrating technical ability in SAS usage. Experience of using SAS, SPSS or similar.
  • MS office (particularly advanced Excel).
  • SQL, VBA and Access (Desirable) Previous exposure to claims and/or analysis within Insurance/Financial Sector (Desirable).
