Role: Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum + overtime (£3k-£8k)
Hours: 4 on 4 off / 5 on 5 off - NIGHTS, 6pm till 6am
Location: Commutable from Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Petersfield and surrounding areas

A well-established manufacturing company that’s takes great pride in its people are looking for a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to their maintenance team. You will be working within a fully automated plant across a range of machines and equipment, including Conveyors, Mixers, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and various other Machinery. The team are down to earth, friendly and work well together in a team.
Responsibilities
Working within a team of 3 Mechanical Fitters and 1 Electrician on shift, reporting into the Engineering Supervisor, your role will include:
· Maintenance – Planned preventative maintenance and reactive (fault finding and repairs).
· Covering a range of mechanical work including Welding, Fabrication, Machining (manual lathes/mills), Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, Belts, Bearings, Pumps, Drives.
· Work through various Projects including overhauls, refurbishments, fitting, installing and general fitting duties.
· Working out on the production floor as well as in the workshop.
· Working as part of a team, supporting each other, utilising each other’s strengths and help develop each other’s weaknesses.
· Identification of solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
· To develop an understanding of machinery operation so that faults can be diagnosed and rectified efficiently.
· To work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.
This would suit someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty, interested in developing their skills and is self motivated.
Requirements
· Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications
· Experience with mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
· Maintenance background preferred
· Any experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining and fabrication would be desirable
· Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
· Friendly and adaptable working attitude
