Sherrards Employment Law Services offers a wide range of services including employment law advice, occupational health, health and safety and resourcing which we deliver to a diverse client base.
Sherrards has a wide variety of clients, ranging from large international companies to small owner-managed businesses and covering the private, public and voluntary sectors.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the marketing manager, this is a varied role, with its main focus on business development and marketing, as well as an administrative element.

We run a number of well attended seminars and training events to our client and contact lists. The main component of the role is business development activities following these training events, and assisting in the process of developing contacts, ascertaining needs, delivering proposals and generally managing the contacts list.

In addition to the business development aspects, administrative requirements include assisting solicitors in preparation for client meetings and training events.


Business Development and Marketing 
    Follow and manage the Business Development framework agreed at Sherrards pursue all opportunities to convert existing ad-hoc clients into retained clients. 
    Lead management through the CRM system ensuring all leads are moved forward in the agreed time frames.
    Analysis of leads from seminars and events. 
    Identify potential clients to convert and then schedule/make a set amount of outgoing calls on a weekly basis.
    Responsible for the scheduling of blog posts/podcasts/webinars and ensuring they are delivered regularly and on time.
    Making appointments for the solicitors to visit leads
    To maintain, grow and improve the organisation's social media      presence via Linked In Facebook, Twitter, and any other channels that         may arise
    Assist with the maintenance and updating of the website
    Manage memberships and recommend networking events that team      members are to attend


Skills/Experience Required
    Experience in a similar role or within sales background
    Excellent telephone manner
    Good command of spelling and grammar
    Social media experience 
    Motivated self-starter
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Commitment and attention to detail
    Ability to work flexible hours as and when required
    Ability to analyse data
    Ability to travel to other locations for seminars, workshops, etc.
    Recognises confidentiality
    Organised with a desire to complete tasks on time
    To perform other duties, as assigned.

Person Specification
    Highly motivated team player with the ability to act on their own initiative.  
    Must have excellent communication skills.  
    Be able to prioritise issues and offer solutions.


This is a part time role working 3 days per week, the role requires someone who is very flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, a fast learner and unflappable. They should be able to build relationships and to work individually as well as part of a team.  The job holder must be able to work efficiently and cost-effectively on a number of time-sensitive projects at any one time. They must be proactive and keen to use their initiative.
