Job Details
You will be looking to develop your skills as a plumber, to complete (under supervision) the full range of plumbing related tasks associated with the repair, maintenance and refurbishment of all of our site properties and factories.
Take responsibility for ensuring our machinery and equipment remains operational through maintenance and repairs. You will be responsible, with direction and support from the team, learning to diagnose and investigate complex faults, responding to incidents and reporting failing equipment.
- Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of industrial plumbing skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff
- Undertake a structured training program of academic study and shop floor, factory environment in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the business
- Learning about Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental needs and developing core knowledge and skills
- Demonstrate skills and processes as the training period progresses
- Develop good working relationships with colleagues and support them when require
- Learn how to maintain workshop, manufacturing equipment and to keep it in good repair
- Maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects that have been undertaken and skills learned
Desired skills
- GCSE level or equivalent, (ideally including English and maths but not essential
- Enthusiasm and keenness to learn
- Self motivated with the ability to listen and follow instructions
- Natural people skills to work in a team, such as good communication
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety

Desired qualifications
Good GCSE results (A-C 9-4 or equivalent) are desirable.
Future prospects
After successful completion of the apprenticeship a full time position could be possible.
Things to consider
The job requires working in a food manufacturing environment, therefore appropriate PPE and housekeeping is essential.
The role is physically demanding where you may be required to stand for periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis and carry out repetitive tasks when required. The ability to work in external environments and work at height is essential.
