Experienced Web & Systems Developer

5and3’s ongoing success means that we’re recruiting again. This time we’re after an experienced, self-motivated and driven developer who can join the team to help us deliver our award-winning websites, tools and systems to our customers.

The successful candidate will already have experienced working within web and system teams and will have exposure to both front and back-end development. With that experience and your own drive, we want someone who gets excited by but understands the front-end influence, working with PHP, Python, MySQL, Symfony, Laravel, Yii and Directus. Your natural, inquisitive nature will lead you to find solutions using OO and patterns with an eye on a maintainable, extensible and reusable code.

We have an increasing number of exciting internal and external projects queuing up and we will expect the successful candidate to take the lead in these projects. Working closely with our Technical Director on one or two of these projects, there is also a fantastic opportunity to help us develop and deliver some exciting changes within our company. So if you are happy using Git, Docker, Puppet or Kubernetes to deliver database driven solutions, and feel you have the capacity and ability for personal self-development into a management role, then get in contact.

About you

We are looking for someone with aptitude and a willing and engaging attitude to work. Provable skills and experience in a number of development areas are more important than qualifications.

Essential Experience:

• PHP
• SQL - experience of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, SQL Server (or other database server)
• Linux - some comfort of working with the command line and server administration
