Role: Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance
Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum + overtime (£5k +) + benefits
Hours: 4 on 4 off, DAYS – 6:00am till 6:00pm
Location: Commutable from Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Haywards Heath and surrounding areas

A large and growing manufacturing company who offer challenging and rewarding careers to Engineers are looking for an individual who wants to be part of an established, loyal and successful team. They are a firm beliver in offering genuine opportunities for people to progress, learn and develop, and due to a recent promotion, they are looking to hire a new Mechanical Fitter to only work days across their 4 on and 4 off shift pattern. Engineers in this role typically earn well into the £40's with overtime. 

Responsibilities

Working within a team of 2 Mechanical Fitters and 1 Electrician, reporting into the Engineering Supervisor, your role will include:

  • Maintenance and mechanical fitting work of all plant and machinery.
  • Fault finding and repairing machines.
  • Working to planned preventative maintenance work across the site – Also to help with the development of it too.
  • Work through various Projects including overhauls, refurbishments, fitting, installing and general fitting duties.
  • Attend to breakdowns where a swift fault diagnoses and repair will be required.
  • To be actively involved in the PPM improvement process.
  • Working as part of a team, on mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Identification of solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • To develop an understanding of machinery operation so that faults can be diagnosed and rectified efficiently.
  • To work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.


Requirements

  • Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications
  • Experience with mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
  • Machinery maintenance experience
  • Any experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, welding or fabrication would be highly desirable
  • Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
  • Friendly and adaptable working attitude
