Grafton Banks Finance is currently assisting a £50m turnover, rapidly expanding private equity backed, international organisation based in Brighton with the recruitment of a Head of Finance. Reporting directly to the CFO and managing a team of around 10 staff you will take responsibility for the timely reporting of the organisation as well as the FP&A and commercial finance aspects. The current team is responsible for the production and internal reporting of the results as well as managing the costs, P&L, offering financial support around business expansions, acquisitions and supporting the product and marketing teams.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • To manage and develop the various finance teams to include financial reporting, management accounting, business partnering, FP&A, treasury and CAPEX.
  • Maintain the systems and processes for producing the management accounts
  • To maintain up to date and meaningful balance sheet reconciliations and analyses
  • Prepare consolidated management accounts with commentaries on a monthly and quarterly basis including underlying performance
  • To interpret the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow implications on the commercial performance of the business and the performance of the processes and controls
  • Managing the finances of business expansions and new business tenders
  • Partnering with marketing and procurement on budgets v spend and new revenue streams
  • Mid and long term financial planning and scenerio analysis
  • To manage continued improvement in the efficiency, relevance, quality and consistency of accounting and reporting
  • Monitor the operation and evolution of the use of the accounting system
  • Key point of contact with company auditors including managing annual audit process
  • Key point of contact for company tax advisors and managing annual tax returns
  • Control local treasury requirements and reporting ensuring compliance with banking covenants and reporting requirements
  • Oversee the capital expenditure budget to ensure expenditure is in line with expectations
  • Manage the proper accounting of senior and shareholder debt and investment
  • Lead on complex accounting matters such as group consolidation and acquisition accounting
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with company secretarial duties
  • Act as main point of contact with company insurers to ensure adequate cover is in place
  • Ad-hoc duties and projects such as assisting with acquisitions integration
  • Oversee collation of information and creation of monthly results to ensure accurate and detailed financial information is available for the business management team in a timely fashion
  • Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Understand and promote the importance of tight balance sheet control and its use as an early warning of trading or control issues
  • Prepare and control cash flow forecasts and achievement and reporting thereof
