NHS AfC: Band 5

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community health and care provider in Sussex. Our expert teams deliver a wide range of medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 9,000 people a day, serving a total population of 1.3 million.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care at the heart of the community. In July 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave us an improved 'Good' rating, with 'Outstanding' features. 96% of our patients said they would recommend our services to their friends and family, and we attribute this to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our teams.

We offer our staff a multitude of benefits; flexible working, free health and wellbeing checks, three tax efficient workplace nurseries rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and a wide range of exciting learning and development opportunities including external courses, conferences, and a Graduate Studentship Scheme.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

Band 5 Staff Nurse, Kleinwort Centre

Do you enjoy motivating patients to help them reach their full potential and facilitating safe discharge from hospital? If so, we are looking for Staff Nurses to become part of our Multi-disciplinary team.

The Kleinwort Centre is a 31 bedded unit in Haywards Heath, West Sussex with close links to other community in-patient services. We pride ourselves in caring for patients of all ages with a variety of complex medical conditions and those who have post-surgical rehabilitation needs.

Our Multi-disciplinary team includes a General Practitioner, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and an onsite Social Worker. To help our patients experience a high standard of care we also have input from Specialist Nurses, a Consultant from our Local Acute Trust and community teams to support discharges from hospital.

Kleinwort is a friendly stand-alone unit. The care and therapy our patients receive is delivered through careful patient centred assessment with involvement from the patient and their families. We are very lucky to have gardens which been adapted for use by patients as part of their therapy; a therapy gym and a large dayroom enabling us to provide an extensive activity timetable to maximise patient recovery and ensure their admission is a positive experience for both them and their relatives. The feedback we have received from patients is that receiving care in this environment has been invaluable to them on their journey after an acute event.

Our recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated our community in-patient services as Outstanding for caring and our overall Trust rating as Good. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to an organisation which is continuously striving to improve then we would love to hear from you.

In return we can offer you: • Flexible working patterns • Supportive learning environment • Dedicated career pathways and great opportunities for continuing professional development including mentorship and physical assessment modules • Commitment to and support for your health and wellbeing • NHS Pension Scheme • NHS discount and salary sacrifice schemes, including childcare vouchers

-The surrounding area has good transport links to London and Brighton.

-We have onsite parking and are 15 minutes' walk away from the train station and local town.

If you are committed to providing care in a compassionate and safe environment then working at the Kleinwort Centre will be an opportunity for you to use your existing skills, gain new ones and be part of a great team. Apply now!
